Introducing ATIUM Injury Management Module: Empowering Medical Professionals in Sports

ATIUM, our cutting-edge platform, offers a comprehensive Injury Management Module designed to enhance collaboration and streamline communication between medical professionals and athletes. This module provides medical practitioners with easy access to their assigned teams and ensures efficient handling of reported injuries and illnesses. Let's explore how this module functions and its benefits for medical professionals in the field.

Once an athlete or coach reports an injury or illness through the ATIUM platform

Athlete Injury reporting

a notification instantly pops up on the medical professional's homepage in the notifications tab. This feature allows doctors to promptly acknowledge the injury and take appropriate action.

The medical professional can initiate a consultation with the athlete by calling them for further assessment. To report the injury from their environment, the doctor can simply click the "Report Injury" button on the homepage. This action opens a window displaying the athletes assigned to the respective medical professional. The doctor can then select the athlete and proceed to report the injury.

In cases where the athlete reports the injury independently, the doctor can click on the "Injury Management" button. This action directs them to the next page, which displays the recently reported injuries categorized by teams.

The doctor can choose to view the reported injuries in either grid view or list view, providing flexibility in navigating the information. The page shows all reported injuries from athletes mapped to the respective medical professional and their teams.

In the top-right corner, buttons are available to filter and choose all open injuries. Medical professionals can select the latest reported injury for further analysis.

Under each team, the athletes' reported injuries are presented, giving the medical professional an overview of the injury landscape. Clicking the edit button on the left side opens up options such as expected return to play, which the medic can prescribe.

The medical professional begins by understanding the problem faced by the athlete and documents information such as the type of problem, symptoms, classification (new or recurring), and the location of the injury.

The medic has the option to diagnose the injury or illness by clicking the "Diagnose" button, which opens the "Manage Diagnosis" page. ATIUM provides a comprehensive database of diagnoses, including OSIICS and the ICD data bank, to assist in accurate identification.

The medic can further filter the diagnosis by area, tissue type, and pathology type for easier selection. Once the diagnosis is determined, the medic can add it to the injury report by clicking the "Add Diagnosis" button in the top-right corner.

This report remains accessible to medical professionals and athletes for review at all times, providing a centralized and transparent record of the injury and its diagnosis.

Based on the diagnosis, the medic can prescribe the return-to-play date. This information is automatically shared with the coach and the athlete via ATIUM, ensuring all stakeholders are up to date on the athlete's expected recovery timeline.

The medic can conduct the treatment of the injury or illness through the ATIUM platform. By clicking the "Treatment" button on the right side of the page, the medic is directed to the treatment page. The treatment date is automatically populated, and the medic can choose the type of evaluation, whether it's an initial evaluation, follow-up, or discharge.

Below, the treatment follows the SOAP (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan) format, allowing for comprehensive documentation of the treatment process. Outcome measures conducted during treatment can also be captured on ATIUM, providing valuable insights for future reference.

To enhance collaboration, the medic can share their notes and comments with coaches by typing them on the shared notes page. These details are shared with coaches to ensure they are informed about the athlete's progress. The medic can choose to label the
